NEW TO FOREST MIDDLE SCHOOL? 

2026-2027
For students new to Bedford County Public Schools in the 2026-2027 school year who live in our attendance zone - online registration will be available on June 1, 2026. This includes students who have attended a BCPS school in the past, but were not actively enrolled on 5/22/2026.

CLICK HERE for the NEW School Transfer and Non-Resident Online Form (2026-2027)
The link above will take you to our new online form for school transfers and non-resident applications. This will allow electronic signatures and automatic submission to the planning office. You will need to enter your name and email, scroll to the bottom, and click the yellow "Begin Signing" button.  As you answer the questions, always click the yellow "Next" button until you get to the signature to ensure an accurate form submission. Please submit an entry for every child separately.  Applications are accepted between March 1 and July 1.

**Note: PowerSchool Enrollment does not send an alert to the school when submitted, so please email Kris Gilley at [email protected]

In addition to the online registration, we also need the following information:

• Records Request Form to send to your child’s previous school (FMS Records Request Form)
• Bedford County Residency Validation Form (BCPS Residency Validation Form)
• Proof of Residency - a copy of the mortgage statement, lease, or real estate tax statement with the parent/guardian’s name and Bedford County address (financial information may be marked out).  *Note: We cannot accept utility bills for this requirement.
• Affirmation/Registration Statement Form (BCPS Affirmation/Registration Form)
• Virginia State Physical & Immunization Records (VA School Entrance Health Form & Immunization Requirements) *Note: Sports physicals do not satisfy this requirement.
• Birth Certificate
• Any legal documents that pertain to your child (custody, name change, court orders, etc.)
• Course Request Form (25-26 6th Grade Form, 25-26 7th Grade Form, 25-26 8th Grade Form)

BELL SCHEDULE 

 This is an important message from Forest Middle School for all parents, guardians, visitors and volunteers. Our school, along with all Bedford County school facilities, has transitioned to a new check-in and check-out system called Raptor.  It is very important to know that a driver’s license scan will be required for anyone who will be checking out a student or for anyone who will be in the building as a visitor or volunteer. Thank you for your assistance and we look forward to a great year.
